We have been putting story cards in order to tell what happened this week. We started off with 3-card sequences and some children even managed a four card sequence for getting cereal for breakfast. When the cards were in the wrong order many children could self correct when they were telling the story. We talked about what happened first, in the middle and last. We also used prompts like ‘What happened next?” Some children placed the cards from left to right and some went from right to left.
