Today we had an Open Day at Pre School. We had lots of expereicnes set up both inside and outside for the families to enjoy.
The children enjoyed inside activities of cutting and pasting, painting, play dough, kinetic sand, animals in water, blocks and farm animals, pretend play in the shop and cars.
We enjoyed a morning tea of fruit, cheese, biscuits and dip.
Outside we had water in the sandpit, painting, and pretend play in the creek bed, obstacle course and balls.
Transition for every stage of life is easier if we go about it in a gentle way. Settling children into Pre school is much easier when they come for visits with families first. We love it when they don’t want to go home. This means they will be all the more keen to visit us again. Transition visits are also an opportunity for teachers to get to know the children and their families long before they enrol. This is why we encourage visits with the playgroup each term.
