We made Sensory Snakes this week with socks filled with wheat. We added felt and wriggly eyes to our snakes. The idea behind the snake is that children use the heaviness of them to steady themselves on the mat and after periods of vigorous play. Some children had never seen a sewing machine before – and they enjoyed watching the teachers sewing up their snakes.
