Although as the seasons go it is Winter today – here in the Mallee it still looks like Autumn. The mornings and evenings are cool and the days are nice and sunny. We still have leaves falling from the trees. This week we experimented with Autumn colours on our paintings. We put blobs of paint on the cardboard and used cardboard scrapers to ‘paint’ rather than brushes. We also started raking and removing the leaves that have fallen from our playground.
The children have turned the cubby area into a shop this week. All the cooking utensils and equipment along with lots of sand and water has been carted from the sandpit as they got to work baking cakes and things to sell to their customers. I also heard some babychinos and nuggets and fries being ordered! This became a whole group project and the children worked very well together. The most popular pieces of equipment were the egg beaters.
